About Me

I am a Data Scientist with a strong engineering background, holding a Master’s in Energy & Environment from the University of Coimbra and a Bachelor’s in Automotive Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.

 

My professional experience spans over a decade in engineering and production management, including project planning, product development, CNC machining, CAD design, quality control, and process optimization using KAIZEN methods.

Currently, I am fully transitioning into Data Science and Machine Learning, with hands-on experience in predictive modeling, business intelligence, and data visualization. I have completed multiple intensive training programs, including:

• Lisbon Data Science Starters Academy (LDSSA) – 350h, focusing on Python, supervised learning, time series, NLP, recommender systems, ML pipelines, feature engineering, and API deployment.

• CESAE Data Analyst Program – 1,050h, emphasizing SQL, Python, R, Power BI, ETL pipelines, and applied business analytics projects.

• EDIT. Data Science & Business Analytics Program – 216h, covering Python, PySpark, machine learning, and strategic dashboard development.

 

I have applied my skills in a range of real-world projects, including: competitor price forecasting with LightGBM, HR cost analytics with SARIMA, retail sales prediction with XGBoost, computer vision with YOLOv8, and large-scale ETL automation from PDFs. These experiences have strengthened my abilities in data wrangling, feature engineering, model evaluation, and creating actionable business insights.

 

I am passionate about solving complex problems with data, and I enjoy combining my engineering mindset with advanced analytical techniques to deliver meaningful and practical solutions.
